H.E. Dr. Jalal Mohammad Al-Debei

Dr. Jalal Mohammad Al-Debei is considered one of the prominent national experts in the fields of finance, financial management, and economics. He possesses deep professional experience spanning more than 30 years in both the public and private sectors, during which he contributed to the development of several vital institutions and projects in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
Dr. Al-Debei was born in the city of Al-Salt in 1963. He earned a Ph.D. in Finance from Amman Arab University in 2009, with a dissertation that addressed the financial factors affecting the stock prices of publicly traded industrial companies listed on the Amman Stock Exchange. He also holds a Master’s degree in Accounting and Finance from the Arab Academy for Financial and Banking Sciences (1997), and a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce and Economics from Jabalpur University (1986).
He began his professional career at the Jordanian Ministry of Finance, where he held numerous leadership positions over a period of more than 28 years. These included Director of General Accounts, Director of Public Debt, Director of Oversight and Inspection, as well as head of the Government Financial Management Information System (GFMIS). He also managed the GFMIS project in cooperation with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), contributing to the enhancement of the government’s financial infrastructure.
In 2015, he assumed the position of Director General of the Jordan Industrial Estates Company, where he worked for three years to improve the industrial investment environment in the Kingdom. He also served as the Director General of the Jordan Press Foundation (Al-Rai) between 2022 and 2024, during a period that witnessed significant efforts in restructuring and institutional performance development.
In terms of memberships and institutional contributions, Dr. Al-Debei served on the boards of several national companies, including the Jordan Silos & Supply Company and the Industrial Estates Company. He was also a member of various governmental committees specialized in regulating the financial relationship between the government and the private sector.
Dr. Jalal Al-Debei represents a model of leadership grounded in knowledge and strategic planning. He is among the distinguished professionals who have contributed to the advancement of financial and institutional performance at the national and public sector levels.
