JODIC participated in the joint webinar on the Core Principles for effective Islamic deposit Insurance Systems that was organized by the Arab Monetary Fund (AMF), the International Association of Deposit Insurers (IADI) and the Islamic Financial Services Board (IFSB) on June 2nd, 2021.

The topics of the webinar highlighted the key elements of the Core Principles for Effective Islamic Deposit Insurance Systems building upon the existing IADI Core Principles. Also, the topics focused on the uniqueness and specifities of Islamic Banks, the requirements of Sharia’h governance and the need to comply with the Shari’ah Principles in addition to challenges faced by Islamic deposit insurance systems, leading to the need of developing a set of Core Principles to address these issues
